§ 4-12. Notice to owner.

Immediately upon impounding an identified animal, the town police department or county animal control department shall make reasonable efforts to notify the owner and inform such owner of the conditions under which the animal may be redeemed. Such conditions include, but shall not be limited to, the charging of those fees as are described in Section 4-13. If after seven days, the owner is unknown or cannot be located, or if the owner has not contacted the town police department or county animal control department, the animal shall then be placed in the adoption pool.
